Lenghty the years a soul requires,
To journey through a life time of pain,
The anguished moment, the betrayal and  shame,
Heart wrenching sobs, somehow escape,
Disbelieving, taunting my numb brain,
Reality staring, unforgiving and bleak,
I stagger, stumble, I feel so weak,
Each tiny prick, each sigh and shudder,
My heart breaks in to a million pieces,
I am learning that there is no gain without pain,
The agonising truth all too plain,
Still, I hope,  to embrace the dawn, the sunlight,
For my scars to  fade away, one day.
